A Little Adventure

Today when I went to my bag to get my books for the day, I couldn’t believe my eyes. There wasn’t one or two even three but a whole family of miniature, Thumbelina – like people getting ready to feast on my lunch!
” Who the hell are yous? ” I whispered, trying not to make it look like I was talking to myself like a crazy person. ” Well I’m Pip, these are my brothers : will, bill, gill, Phil and dill, and these are my sisters : Lilly, Milly, kitty, molly and Hally. ” Squeaked Pip’s little voice. ” Wow! What does it feel like to have five brothers and sisters? “ ” It’s absolutely horrible, we don’t have parents, we don’t have a home, and on top of all of that I’m the youngest so no one cares what I think! “ ” Oh you poor little things, yous can come and live with me.” ” HOORAY!” They all screamed in joy, jumping up and down on my sandwich. ” That would be great… but one question, what is your name? “ “ Emma “ ” Thanks Emma, you’re the best! ”
” DING, DING! ” It was time for recess. ” Class is dismissed everyone can go… everyone except Emma. ” Announced Miss Doyle. ” What do you want Miss? “ “ I’m not very impressed with the amount of work you have done this morning. “ I can see what she means I haven’t done a thing I have been to distracted from the little people but how can I tell her that. ” Is there something going on at home? “ Well you could say that.” I muttered under my breath. ” What did you say? “ “ UM… nothing Miss. ” ” Nothing what? ” ” I mean there is nothing going on at home, I just didn’t understand what I had to do, that’s all Miss. “ ” Well in the future if you don’t understand ask me for help, that’s why I’m here to teach and help you, understood? “ ” Yes Miss.” ” You may go now Emma.” ” Thanks Miss.” I quickly grab my bag , shut the door and pelt towards the toilet.
I shut the cubicle door and open my bag. ” ARGH! I see the light!” screams Gill. “ Oh take a chill pill, it’s only me.” ” What’s a chill pill? whatever it is I think I’ll like it.” replies Gill. ” You guys can only live with me on one condition, yous behave and let me concentrate on my school work, or I’ll get detention, alright? “ ” Okey Dokey artichokey! “ They all chant. I get whatever is left of my lunch, (which is not much at all) zip up my bag and leave the toilets.
After lunch I went to class as usual. This time I was hoping that I didn’t get distracted by the little people. Everything was going as planned until I heard a little squeal. “Who was that?” Questioned Miss Doyle. ” If no one owns up everyone has a after school detention!” ” It… It was me miss!” I declared. ” See me after school then Emma please.” “Yes miss.”
” Miss, can I go to my bag to get a drink please?” ” Yes but make it quick.” I rush over to my bag to see what all the fuss was about. All of the little people had eaten all my food including my chocolate that made them extra hypo! They also had drank all of my fizzy cordial! And on top of that they had chocolate moustaches! I didn’t know how I could control them, so I didn’t do anything just zipped up my bag extra tight.
I had, had enough, I was at breaking point. I hadn’t done any work all day and I had detention after school. I had nothing to lose, so I went up to Miss Doyle and explained everything.
” Miss Doyle?” ” Yes Emma?’ ” I want to explain about why I haven’t done any work today and what that noise was just a second ago. “ ” Alright explain away, you can explain it to the whole class.” ” Uh… OK… well the reason I haven’t done any work is because I have been distracted by a family of little people that came to school with me today, and the noise was them going hypo cause they ate all my food!” I finally got out. It felt like a weight had just been lifted off my shoulders. The whole class laughed their heads off including Miss Doyle! ” Very funny Emma, but you still have detention!” Miss Doyle stated. ” Why are yous laughing, it’s true! I’ll prove it!” I run to my bag pick it up and rush back.
I open my bag and they’re gone! I look around, take everything out but still nothing. I am humiliated. I go back to my seat and sob. I look up and out the window and there they are, the little people, winking at me!
And that’s what happened the day little people sneaked into my bag and came to school with me.

Netball Finals

I play in a club called OHA, my team is really good and until the finals we didn’t lose a game.
The first final we played Cripps Warratah and we lost by 2 points. I hate their coach he is a evil little man. He said stuff like: ” It’s there ball let them chase it!” and if one of the girls on his team did anything wrong he would scream at them!
Because We finished top of the ladder we got to get another chance, so the next saturday we played Kingston Blues. It was a really good game, we lost by five points! They played better on the day so they deserved to win.
I hope kingston beat Cripps in the grand final.
Playing club netball was really fun, especially trainings, heaps of fun.
Now I’m going to play in the spring roster that starts in October. Can’t wait!!!
Next weekend I think it is I’m going to a dinner for OHA at the windjammer there are going to be awards and a disco!!!

William Dampier

In English Miss Wyatt read us some facts about William Dampier. Here are some of them.
William Dampier was born in 1650 near Yovel in England. When he was sixteen he was already a seaman. When he was twenty-two he was either a lumberjack or a pirate in the Caribbean. He founded Shark and Rubbock Bay.
He discovered New Holland (Australia) in 1688 but wasn’t interested in it because of the lack of water, his crew got scurvy and had difficulties with the aboriginal people. His boat (HMS Cygnet) sank at Assention Bay in 1701, he was then taken back to England.
He also wrote a book about his voyages.

This term I think I went pretty well. I think I’ve improved in English, Maths and Drama. I enjoy Drama, Science and P.E the most. I dislike History. I can improve more in Drama next term.
